Gustav Klimt Quotes

Gustav Klimt Quotes
  • "All art is erotic."

  • "There is no self-portrait of me."

  • "I can paint and draw. I believe this myself, and a few other people say that they believe this too. But I'm not certain of whether it's true."

  • "True relaxation, which would do me a world of good, does not exist for me. "

  • "Although even when I am being idle, I have plenty of food for thought both early and late - thoughts both about and not about art."

  • "If the weather is good, I go into the nearby wood - there I am painting a small beech forest (in the sun) with a few conifers mixed in. This takes until 8 'o clock."

  • "Sometimes I miss out on the morning's painting session and instead study my Japanese books in the open."

  • "Whoever wants to know something about me - as an artist which alone is significant - they should look attentively at my pictures and there seek to recognise what I am and what I want."

  • "After tea, it's back to painting - a large poplar at dusk with a gathering storm. From time to time, instead of this evening painting session, I go bowling in one of the neighbouring villages, but not very often."

  • "Even when I have to write a simple letter, I'm scared stiff as if faced with looming seasickness."

About the Artist: Gustav Klimt

About the Artist: Gustav Klimt

Gustav Klimt was an early 20th-century artist and founder of the Vienna Secession. He is most famous for his paintings, which often depicted women in sensual poses. His use of colors and gold in these paintings created a sense of opulence that made them famous across Europe. His painting the Kiss is sometimes considered Klimt's magnum opus.

On July 14, 1862, Gustav Klimt was born in Baumgarten as the first child of Anna and Ernst Klimt. His family consisted of his sister, Berta, and two more siblings that died shortly after birth. He began drawing as a small child. However, some debate remains on whether he had any formal artistic training.

His father was very successful working in the mining business and owned a construction company for bridges and railroads. He enjoyed financial success, which allowed Gustav to pursue an education in fine arts.

Hey guys! I am working hard to provide commentary on the art of our human civilization. You get an opportunity to see artwork from some of the most brilliant minds in art history.

My goal is to make people feel better by reminding everyone that there is beauty in this world. Sometimes, we need to look at something pleasant, unique, and startling to take our breath away and feel that we humans have a purpose.

I am by no means a professional in the art history field. I come from a business and technical background. I started to fall in love with art later in life. I wanted to learn more about the past artists and some of their artworks. I started learning about different artists throughout art history, and I have not stopped exploring.

All of the paintings that I find are available in the public domain. Many art galleries worldwide have contributed their art pieces to the public domain. I want to thank them for allowing us to share their masterpieces on this blog.

Art makes me happy. I want to share my joy with you and put a smile on your face. I like to interject humor in my artwork commentary. When you subscribe to my blog, you will get a curated analysis of my views of how a painting makes me feel. Please join our community and let us bring joy back to this world. I can not do this alone. Take care, my friends!
